BIBLE DIVING EXPEDITION MEMBERS

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 ESV)

  • As you Bible Diving Expedition Guide, I (Kat Cannon) am curating what I’ve learned through my many years in Christian ministry studying, teaching, and writing curriculum about the Bible. Appropriate citations will be included where appropriate so you can see the source material for yourself. So much of Bible Diving, though, is about helping you get into the Scriptures with the tools and techniques that are widely available, tried and true by Jesus’ followers around the world. That way you can hear God’s voice through His Word for yourself instead of relying on me or another teacher to tell you what the Bible says.

  • Absolutely. If you’re new to the Bible, then you can come to the Scriptures with fresh eyes and fresh questions to begin talking with God and the community of faith. In some ways, people who are brand new to the Bible have an advantage over those who’ve been reading and studying for years. You don’t have any bad habits to break, assumptions to unwind, or long-held traditions to challenge. I’m so glad you’re here!

  • Yes! I am one of you! As a teacher and student of the Bible for many, many years now, I found that an awful lot of us know an awful lot of Scripture, but may still have not learned how to hear God through the Scriptures very well. What’s in our heads hasn’t made it to our hearts or our hands despite our best efforts. Bible Diving is an approach to Scripture designed to engage more than just our minds as we engage God’s Word and let it impact us at the deepest levels. I’m so glad you’re here!
